In a review of the scientific literature on the relationship between stress and disease, Carnegie Mellon University psychologist Sheldon Cohen found that stress is a contributing factor in human disease.

Cohen goes on to write that “Effects of stress on regulation of immune and inflammatory processes have the potential to influence depression, infectious, autoimmune, and coronary artery disease, and at least some (e.g. viral) cancers."

Stress and NY city can be synonymous so it’s particularly important to have tools to counter the effects of stress. A mind body skills group will provide the tools necessary to foster health and happiness amidst the cacophony of the fast paced life that our city is known for.

Skills taught are meditation, imagery, biofeedback, autogenic training and breath work with a focus on optimizing immune functioning. This is an educational model based on a protocol developed by The Center for Mind-Body Medicine.

Each group series is four - 90 minute sessions. The series is $200 due before the first session.

Health is celebrated

as the optimal alignment of body, mind and spirit

and not merely the absence of disease.
